Introduction

What is Robinhood Chain?

A quick primer on Robinhood Chain, the network QUVR is built for.

Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum Layer 2 network (Chain ID 4663) that Robinhood launched to host Stock Tokens, ETFs, and USDG — tokenized representations of equities, funds, and a USD-referenced stablecoin, alongside general-purpose smart contracts like QUVR's own Portal (launchpad) contract.

Because it's an Ethereum L2, Robinhood Chain uses ETH as its native gas currency and settles back to Ethereum's security guarantees, the same broad architecture family as Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism. Assets don't exist on Robinhood Chain natively — they arrive via a bridge from a source chain (today: Ethereum mainnet, Arbitrum, or Base), which is exactly what QUVR's Bridge section is for.

Stock Tokens and ERC-8056

Stock Tokens and ETFs on Robinhood Chain use a token standard called ERC-8056 (Scaled UI Amount). The short version: if the underlying stock does a split or pays a dividend, the token contract updates an internal ui-multiplier rather than minting or burning your raw token balance. QUVR's watchlist and portfolio always show you the adjusted, human-readable amount — you don't need to do any math yourself. See Understanding Stock Tokens for the full explanation.

Why a separate chain

Running Stock Tokens on their own chain gives Robinhood control over the network parameters (gas, throughput, upgrade path) without competing for blockspace with unrelated Ethereum L2 traffic. For you as a user, the practical implication is simply that you need to bridge assets onto Robinhood Chain before you can trade, watch, or launch anything there — you can't send from an exchange directly to it.

Tip

You can add Robinhood Chain to your wallet manually, or let QUVR prompt your wallet to add it automatically the first time you need to switch to it — see Adding Robinhood Chain to Your Wallet.
