BattleCard Tiers Explained: Common to Legendary
A card's rarity tier isn't assigned by hand -- it falls out of a weighted combination of its four stats. Here's how the tiers break down and what pushes a card from one to the next.
Every BattleCard has a tier -- Common, Rare, Epic, or Legendary -- shown as a badge on the card. It's not assigned by hand, and it's not fixed once a card appears: it falls out of the same live stats driving HP/ATK/DEF/SPD.
How tier is computed
A card's overall power score is a weighted combination of its four stats, favoring ATK/DEF/SPD over raw HP -- a token with a lot of committed market cap but comparatively thin trading activity or holder count won't automatically outrank one with less capital behind it but more real engagement. Tier is a read on that combined score, not any single stat in isolation.
Why a card's tier can move
Because stats are computed from live Trenches data rather than fixed at some past moment, a card's tier can shift between visits if the underlying token's market cap, volume, or holder count has moved meaningfully. That's expected behavior in the current demo, not a bug -- see Introducing BattleCard for why stats are live rather than snapshotted.
